Zero Waste Practices
WE BELIEVE IN ZERO WASTE, ZERO COMPROMISE
At KATLA, Zero Waste is more than a philosophy, it’s our practice. Zero Waste is at the core of our brand, and we’re proud of the actions we’ve taken to minimize waste in every aspect of our supply chain.
WHAT STEPS HAVE WE TAKEN SO FAR?
Every Katla item is made either on-demand or in small batch manufacturing. In an industry that overproduces on average 30-40% each season and where 3 in 5 garments end up in landfill or incinerators, this needs to become the norm. Overproduction has never been tenable and the devastating impacts on people, animals and our environment are visible now more than ever before. Zero Waste manufacturing of seasonless styles is the way forward, and we’re proud to pioneer the Zero Waste Movement.
We hope you will join us.
In addition to Zero Waste Manufacturing, we are working towards rolling out Zero Waste Practices across our supply chain, including Zero Waste Design. Conventional fashion design can lead to vast amounts of raw fabric material waste. Zero Waste Design means designers thoughtfully architect and create patterns that lend themselves to no fabric being wasted.
